Earns global accreditation, arranges for Blue Cross Blue Shield OK

A private hospital in Hermosillo, Sonora, has earned international accreditation and partnered with a major U.S. insurance company to offer services to U.S.patients.

Hospital Cima Hermosillo has been classified as a world-class hospital by the Joint Commission International and is one of the first hospitals in Mexico to receive this certification, said Marcos Serrato, the hospital’s medical director.

CIMA Receives JCI Certification With the representation of Govenor Bours , Raymundo López Vucovich revealed the certificate of the Joint Commission International accreditation. This is the highest certification at a world-wide level in quality of health services.

With representatives of Joint Commission International and Hospital directors, Raymundo López Vucovich emphasized the interest of Governor Bours because the people of Sonora can count on the quality of health services with a hospital that has world class recognition.

Raymundo López Vucovich congratulated CIMA for being first hospital in the northwest of the country in obtaining this accreditation that has been supporting the actions of the health tourism industry.

“We feel deeply satisfied”, added Vucovich knowing we have a hospital with a world-wide accreditation, it gives great security to the people of Mexico to be able to count on hospital with infrastructure of such high level.

On the other hand, the Director of the Hospital, Steven Foster, emphasized that CIMA has been working on this accreditation for two years at a cost of 250 thousand dollars and countless hours of preparation.

Foster explained that this accreditation was made in seven clinical areas and six administrative areas as well: hygiene and cleaning, credentials, regular evaluation of the doctors, doctor-surgical, rates of infection and mortality, medicine administration and care of the infirmary, among several others.
